I love this bakery very much. It really holds a special place in my heart. The croissants and pastries here are on another level. They use high quality ingredients imported from France. Even with gluten intolerance, I don’t have discomfort after eating here. The crème brûlée, chocolate mousse and rice pudding are wonderful gluten free options.
It’s literally just like going to a bakery in Paris. I can’t believe a place like this exists only a short drive away.

A Taste of Europe at Bakery X in Krate at The Grove!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bakery X, conveniently located in Krate at The Grove, right off I-75, and it was an absolute delight!
The atmosphere inside is wonderfully quaint, making for a cozy and inviting experience. But the real stars of the show are the pastries. Seriously, these aren't just good; they're delicious and truly comparable to some of the best I've tasted in Europe. Every bite was a little piece of heaven.
Beyond the incredible treats, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, happily answering all my questions about their offerings. I also loved that they had jams and other small artisanal items available for purchase, perfect for taking a bit of that Bakery X magic home with you.
I'll definitely be visiting Bakery X again soon. If you're looking for an authentic and incredibly tasty bakery experience, you absolutely have to check this place out!

Bakery X is a hidden gem for French pastry. Everything is buttery, flaky, perfectly balanced, and never overly sweet. The croissants are crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the pastries are beautifully made with real attention to detail with some surprise in the center. They take pride in their craft with friendly service. Highly recommend visiting.

Stopped by this bakery today and I’m really glad I did. Everything was fresh, flaky, and full of flavor — the croissants were perfectly layered and buttery, the beignets were soft and sweet, and the cinnamon roll was absolutely worth it. You can tell they take pride in their baking.
The shop itself was clean, warm, and nicely decorated, which made it feel comfortable and inviting right away.
What really stood out though was the customer service 😊 the lady working there was genuinely kind, patient, and welcoming. You don’t always get that level of service anymore, and it made the experience even better.
Great pastries + great atmosphere + great service = easy recommendation. I’ll definitely be back.

I visited Bakery X and had a wonderful experience. The café has a charming French vibe, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
We ordered the pistachio croissant and the crème brûlée, and both were absolutely outstanding. The crème brûlée was smooth, creamy, and silky, with a perfectly balanced sweetness. The croissant had a crisp, flaky outer layer that melts in your mouth, while the inside was soft and delicious. The filling was sweet without being overpowering, making it incredibly enjoyable.
Overall, the ambiance and service are great, but the desserts are truly the highlight. Highly recommend visiting if you’re craving a genuine French café experience.

There are bakeries that produce beautiful pastries, and others that produce authentic pastries. Then there are the rarified few that remind you that craftsmanship is ultimately an expression of character. Bakery-X is in that rare air.
My husband and I recently drove four hours specifically to visit this bakery. Having spent much of my youth in Switzerland and France, traveling by train to Paris, Lyon and Brittany, I developed an enduring reverence for French viennoiserie. It shaped my understanding not only of food, but of culture, tradition, patience, and mastery.
The kouign-amann, to me, remains the magnum opus of pastry: a love letter to Brittany and a monument to French culinary genius.
Photos of Bakery-X's pastries lured us in. The kouign-amanns exhibited some of the most wondrous exteriors I have ever seen. I told my husband, "Those might be the best we have ever had."
The bakery itself is charming, unmistakably rooted in genuine French sensibilities. The pastries are surreally beautiful. The kouign-amanns display sublime prowess: deep mahogany tones, glass-like caramelization, impeccable shaping, structural integrity, and a hypnotizing sheen.
The Pain Suisse has a shattering crisp only masterful laminators obtain.
The kouign-amann is a sensory ride into French history. The flavor is silky, rich and sweet; the exterior among the finest I have ever known: euphorically brittle with a glassy break. But the interior tells a contrasting story. Rather than airy, webbed layers common in modern adaptations, the core is dense, bread-forward, structurally restrained, tapping into the pastry's Breton origins.
What truly sets Bakery-X apart is Xavier's generosity, humility, patience, and intellectual honesty. He takes the time to edify on the pastries' history, Breton traditions, and the philosophy guiding their work.
The head baker, Joris, is Breton himself. The kouign-amann is not merely another item on the menu; it is his heritage and lifeblood. You can see him
